Using iPhones abroad?
Im travelling to hong kong, Singapore and Malaysia. I have a UK registered iPhone with 02. However I still wish to use my phone for texts and email. Any tips to avoid expensive call charges p as I was looking into an international package that allows texts and emails for a capped fee.
Talk to O2. If you’ve updated your phone to OS 3.1, you may not be able to unlock the phone to use it with another sim card. If that’s the case, it would probably be less expensive to buy a cheap pay as you go phone in each of your destinations than to use an O2 international plan.
With regard to the sales pitch below, according to the dev team, phones upgraded to 3.1 probably cannot be unlocked by anyone.
